Rutter is all smiles and does his best to have a positive attitude about everything in life.
He lived in the forested section of Ekyon with his father for most of his life. They were near a rather large lake, rumored to be an ancient Sea civilization at one point and time. He had found himself fascinated with Seas, seeing as he was close to being one yet didn't quite meet the catch due to his lacking of scales and gills, classifying him as a Noonda instead. He did spend lots of time in the water though, seeing how far he could dive before running out of breath and having to scrambling to the surface.
When he was seven years old there were rumors being spread by the children of the village that a Cringer had appeared nearby. The adults simply blew it off, just thinking the children’s imaginations were running wild as usual. However, as days went by the youngest children of the village soon began to disappear, their families quickly rushing into the thick forests to look for them. Once neither the children nor the parents returned people began to feel panic, several of them leaving the village at once in search of a new home. Yet, there were some people who refused to leave their homes, Rutter’s father being one of them.
As the year went by a few more families went missing, but Rutter’s was still there. Eventually, the Cringer threat seemed to finally die down and the remaining people were finally at ease. Rutter himself was extremely relieved, finally able to go outside and play once again instead of having to be cooped up inside due to his father’s fear of loosing him.
The years in the village were quite peaceful until he had reached the age of seventeen. He was out in the forest collecting wood for the winter, wanting to help out his father since he was growing old and weak. He was in the middle of his work when he felt a tap on his shoulder, turning around only to see blood thirsty eyes gazing at him. He dropped everything, taking a few steps back before soon falling over, his legs shaking far too much to support his weight. He stared at the figure, taking in every little detail. From the pitch black eyes with a glowing pink color, horns, and slinky, flaming tail he knew right away a Cringer had found him. He knew he should run, but all he felt was fear, remembering all the children that never came back, as well as their parents.
He managed to gather enough strength to stand himself back up, snatching his wood ax and pointing it at the creature as he slowly made his way around him, then bolted. He didn't know if the Cringer chased him that day, too afraid to even look behind him as he ran.
After telling his father about the encounter he finally gave up staying there, knowing they had to leave for good. They soon began their move to the city, however on their way Rutter’s father became very ill and passed away, leaving Rutter to finish the trek to his new home all alone. He was heart broken, but did his best to keep his positive attitude and smiling as much as he could, copying what his father had done whenever times were rough as if to still keep him close.
Once he had reached his destination he quickly settled down, things returning to peace for him once again.
When he had reached the age of twenty one, he had met Hunla while he was out on a stroll. He had fallen in love with her at first sight, her sweet voice, looks, and personality instantly reeling him in. He had a feeling he’d never see her again, so he asked her out. She was very confused, but agreed to one date so they could get to know each other more, and at least be friends if nothing more. However, lucky for Rutter, that one date had led to several others, and a couple of years later Hunla had moved in with him.
Hunla had recently brought home a Flont named Zuzu, this overjoying Rutter. He sees the Flont as their child, and treats her as such. He even claims himself as her father if people ask. He's very proud in the fact that he now had a family, even if Zuzu isn't his and Hunla's real child.
